New homes

Rekeying a new or newly bought home

Queen Creek has grown from about 59,500 people in the 2020 census to an estimated 87,000 in 2025, and many of its homes are new. A new house is not a clean slate for keys: trades and site staff used the doors during construction, and on a resale, previous owners and their contractors may still have keys.

Rekeying changes the pins in your existing locks so all of those keys stop working. If the builder fitted a basic lockset and you would rather have a sturdier deadbolt or a keypad lock, we can replace it instead.

Gates and mailboxes

Gate, side-yard and mailbox locks

Queen Creek keeps its farm and equestrian roots alongside its newer neighborhoods, and plenty of properties have side gates and pool gates as well as front and back doors. We rekey and replace gate locks and mailbox locks, and where the hardware takes a compatible cylinder, we key them to match the house.

Tell us what is on each gate now, and what it needs to do, and we will tell you what fits.

Vehicles

Car keys and fobs

We cut and program replacement car keys, replace and pair fobs and remotes, open locked vehicles and repair ignitions, at your home or wherever the car is. Give us the year, make and model and say whether you still have a working key, and we confirm your vehicle before we book.

Locked out of the house or the car? Emergency callouts run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Businesses

Keying a business from the start

With the town growing, plenty of businesses here are moving into new or newly fitted-out spaces. That is the moment to plan the keying: decide who needs into which rooms, and a master key system can be built around that before the locks go on the doors.

Already open? We rekey after staff changes, add master keying where the cylinders allow, and repair and replace commercial locks, exit devices and panic bars.

I had to use this locksmith on Monday, which happened to be a holiday, and I couldn’t have been more impressed with the service! They responded incredibly quickly, were very professional and friendly, and had the job taken care of fast. Their customer service was excellent, especially considering it was a holiday. I really appreciated how easy and stress-free they made the whole situation. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a reliable and responsive locksmith!

Needed the house rekeyed this morning after an old roommate moved out and I didn't trust that every copy came back. Diamondback Lock and Key made it quick and easy, in and out in under an hour for four locks.

One of our front door locks failed completely on a Friday afternoon. Customers still coming in, employees trying to leave for the weekend. Not a good situation. If your business is in Chandler and you need commercial lock work done fast, Diamondback Lock and Key is who you want. Been in this building almost 14 years and dealt with a few locksmiths over that time. Nobody moved this quick. They had someone out before I even had time to start stressing about it. The tech knew exactly what he was looking at. Didn't try to sell me a full replacement when a repair was the right call. That matters when you're standing there watching the clock. Everything was solid by the time he left and we didn't lose more than an hour of business. For a commercial property owner thats everything.

Louis was amazing. I was dealing with an “incorrect key ID” error and a car that wouldn’t start. After programming the key, he wasn’t satisfied when the problem came back and strongly suggested I have the battery tested again. He was right. It turned out I had both a key issue and a failing battery. What stood out most was his customer service. I was stressed, overwhelmed, and having a rough day, and he treated me with kindness, patience, and a great attitude. He genuinely cared about solving the problem instead of just completing the job. Highly recommend!

Great service! They solved my problem the same day and sent a great guy who took only 30 minutes to cut and program my car key. I will recommend them anytime and will call them again for future projects.

Never used them before but Luis came out last week and got our business locks working again and I was so relieved it didn't take all day.

Our back door at the shop was a nightmare. You'd push it shut and it just wouldn't catch unless you basically kicked it into place. Eran from Diamondback Lock and Key in Chandler came out, took one look at it, and said the mechanism was dry. He hit it with graphite spray and the door closed smooth on the first try. Charged us a reasonable amount for the visit. Wish I'd called sooner.

FAQ

Common questions

If yours is not here, call and ask — (602) 388-1201.

Do I need to rekey a brand-new home?

It is worth doing. You cannot know every key handed out during construction and sale, and rekeying makes all of them stop working.

Your hardware stays on the doors.

Can my gate locks use the same key as my house?

Often, yes, if the gate hardware takes a compatible cylinder.

Tell us what is on the gates now and we will tell you what it takes.

Do you cover the Pinal County part of Queen Creek?

Yes. We cover the whole town on both sides of the county line, and San Tan Valley next door.

Is there a Diamondback shop in Queen Creek?

No. Our shop is in downtown Chandler; Queen Creek is part of our mobile service area.
